Welsh Cycling is the national governing body of cycling in Wales, working in partnership with British and Scottish Cycling. Based at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome in Newport, with regional hubs in North and West Wales. Welsh Cycling provides guidance and support to all forms of cycling in Wales.
Whether you are a competitor in one of the six sporting disciplines (Mountain Bike, Cyclo-Cross, Road, Track, BMX and Cycle Speedway), a member of a cycling club, a social rider, cycle commuter, or a dedicated volunteer we want to help you enjoy cycling.
Performance in Cycling
The success of our Welsh athletes has helped put Wales as a cycling nation on the map – Geraint Thomas became the first Welshman to win the Tour de France in 2018. Our other athletes are also flying the flag high, representing top World Tour teams. But we also work extremely hard to bring through the next generation of Welsh talent through our Performance programme which will help us to take home medals at future Commonwealth Games.
